DECEMBER 2021 - ASHRAE Society President Visit
/We had a busy day in Cleveland, hosting Mick Schwedler, PE, FASHRAE - current ASHRAE President.
The breakfast meeting with design professionals generated really interesting conversations and feedback, such as how there could be more regional collaboration and ASHRAE training at the CRC events, and how the local chapter can continue to keep the design firms and owners engaged, by communicating the value that ASHRAE provides.
The meeting with local code and government officials highlighted the role that ASHRAE plays in developing standards for the built environment, the balance that one must achieve between health, safety and energy efficiency, and how ASHRAE can continue to advocate (not lobby) for states and local jurisdictions to adopt newer, cost justified standards in their building codes.
His Presidential address to the local chapter highlighted the importance of feeding the roots- technical, personal and grassroots, did resonate with the audience. It was even more special that he could spend time and meet with local distributors and manufacturers at their table top displays.
Dear “Team ASHRAE Cleveland,”
Thank you so much for your kind hospitality, filling the day with engineer, code official and Chapter gatherings, the Cleveland gifts, and especially your service to the Chapter and Members. The time and effort you put in is greatly appreciated – particularly by your Members.
The pictures you sent are fabulous! Thank you for sharing them.
It was an honor to be with you and everyone else in Cleveland. Your planning resulted in significant service to many in the Cleveland area – and value for your Chapter.
I hope the holidays you celebrate are blessed, and your New Year is healthy and prosperous for you and all those close to you.
Please let us know how we can help you continue to be successful and “Feed the roots.”
Best regards,
Mick Schwedler, PE, FASHRAE
